I just ran across a Tumblr post made by a 22 year-old who identifies himself as a photographer. He said:

“i never understood why ‘photographers’ think its art to take a naked chick, throw her in the woods, and take the photo in b&w??”

I remember what it’s like to be a smug, overconfident young man, emboldened by narrow experience and a freshly-inked degree. It is my hope that, as the poster matures, he comes to appreciate that there are many paths to artistic expression, and that scare-quotes are for the lame.
